PrintA new gourmet food establishment is set to open in the old Popolo location at 1255 Monterey St. Steve Bland and Dwyne Willis are slated to open SLO Provisions, an “All Day Gourmet Take-Away,” featuring  rotisserie meats, family style dinners, rustic style baked goods, specialty salads and sandwiches, as well as specialty drinks and coffees. With plans to open up shop in August, insiders report that they plan on using locally sourced and small batch purveyors. Lotus Asia’s Best has moved from its location in historic Railroad Square to downtown SLO and according to insiders is set to open today. Knowing that their lease would soon be up at their Osos Street location the owners of the Asian restaurant decided to make the move to 1131 Broad St., former home of The Wild Donkey Café. While they will have the authentic fare that locals love, it will be a couple months before they bring back their popular Mongolian Barbecue.
