Oki Momo Asian Grill Restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, October 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Oki Momo is a fast casual restaurant serving fresh, all-natural mixed-Asian cuisine.
The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting by the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce at 4:30 p.m., and a performance by the Cal Poly Lion Dance Team at 5:30 p.m. There will be food samples, specials and giveaways. In addition, the grand opening day will be a fundraiser to support the great work being done by our neighbor, Transitions Mental Health Association (TMHA). Ten percent of sales for the entire day will go to TMHA.
Oki Momo owners include brothers–David and Jonathan Yeh, and executive chef, In Lloyd. They created Oki Momo to bring more Asian flavors to the central coast and developed the menu so that families and friends with diverse dietary needs and palates can come together for meals that are enjoyable to all. The menu has many vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and kid-friendly selections.
The restaurant showcases healthful mixed-Asian cuisine made from fresh, natural ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possible. Super foods such as kale, quinoa, romaine, and broccoli are integrated into many of the menu items. All the sauces are house-made. Oki Momo means “big peach” in Japanese, and peach is a “secret” ingredient in the creamy Momo Sauce.
Customers can mix and match to create their own meal from a diverse array of rice, noodle, protein, vegetable, sandwich, soup and other dishes. Prices range from $5.00 for one item to $13.50 for a three-item combination. Beverage choices include fountain drinks, fresh-brewed iced tea, a selection of Asian and domestic beers, sake, and local wines. Desserts include handmade ice cream mochi and fresh baked lemon squares and date-walnut bars.
The restaurant has a patio in the rear for outdoor dining. Oki Momo is located between Ribline BBQ and Grill Restaurant and Verizon Wireless in a new building next to Fresh and Easy Market. The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
