The SLO Chamber celebrates continued member, The Monday Club’s grand re-opening of their newly restored building, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Monday Club of San Luis Obispo is a dedicated group of women serving the community and maintaining their historic building designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed woman architect in California. The Monday Club’s mission is to enhance the educational, civic, social and cultural quality of the San Luis Obispo community.
October 14 marked the beginning of their week of celebration with the grand re-opening of their newly restored building, designed by Julia Morgan and on the Register of Historic Places. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony was a discussion of the history of the women’s vote by The League of Women Voters.
Enjoy tours of the clubhouse and view Atelier Morgan a national traveling exhibit of the work of Julia Morgan, on loan from the Robert E. Kennedy Library, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. This week will culminate with a walk-around food and wine tasting on October 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. featuring women winemakers, chefs and business owners.
