In an effort to create more cultural, social, and recreational events and activities that benefit both residents and visitors now through June 2022, the City’s Promotional Coordinating Committee (PCC) is offering 25 grants to nonprofit organizations at $4,000 each, for a total of $100,000 this year.

Local nonprofit organizations that wish to produce or advertise a cultural, social, and/or recreational event in San Luis Obispo between Sept. 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022 can apply for funding from the City’s Grants-in-Aid (GIA) Program.

These types of events significantly contribute to the overall quality of life in San Luis Obispo, which is why the individual awards have increased from the previous amount of $2,500.  The GIA funding is awarded annually by the City of San Luis Obispo and administered by the PCC. Nonprofit organizations can apply for grant funding now through June 2022, and the PCC will review new applications each month. Only one grant will be awarded per organization through June 2022. Grant applications for passive, virtual, hybrid, or live in-person events will be accepted. In-person events must take place in the city of San Luis Obispo.

To be considered for a grant, organizations must submit a digital application that can be found at slocity.org/CulturalGIAIncomplete applications will not be accepted.
