Inside look at an Ambassador Committee meeting

More than 2,000 volunteer hours. Monthly committee meetings. Brainstorming to improve membership experience. Our Ambassador Committee often serves as the first touch point between the Chamber and our members, the epitome of Creating Connection in our community. Our Ambassadors are truly an extension of Chamber staff, and they allow us to achieve a relationship with our membership or nearly 1,400 businesses that would otherwise be impossible. Let’s take a moment to look back at all they accomplished in 2019.

This year we had 30 volunteers on the Ambassador Committee.

Our volunteers partook in 126 events, including ribbon cuttings, Expo at the EXPO, Good Morning SLO, New Member Orientations and Membership Mixers.

They contributed more than 2,000 hours of volunteer time.

The Ambassadors Committee’s purpose is to help the business community to network and build relationships by sharing the mission, goals and benefits of the Chamber. Our Ambassadors also provide input to the Board of Directors on member opportunities and issues.

This year, Ambassadors focused on member connection, member retention, event support, Chamber promotion and representation. Ambassadors is their name, Creating Connection is their game.

Join us in thanking our dedicated 2019 Ambassadors.

We would also like to take a moment to recognize our 2019 Membership Council, which was comprised of 10 appointed business leaders from across the region and industry. The purpose of this advisory group is to assist with the growth of the Chamber’s membership quantitatively and qualitatively through improved engagement, programs and strategies which enhance the value of membership to the regional business community.

This year, Membership Council focused on understanding industry and local membership trends, evaluating member services, and identifying opportunities and strategies to grow membership and Chamber value. With six meetings throughout the year, our 2019 Membership Council members devoted nearly 100 hours of their time toward growing and improving Chamber membership.

Once again, join us in thanking our incredible 2019 Membership Council.
