I am delighted to share that Leadership SLO Executive Director Sandi Sigurdson will serve as the Chamber’s interim president and CEO as we continue the search to fill the position.

Sandi brings a wealth of executive experience to the role as well as deep familiarity with the Chamber community, staff and board. She has spread community-minded leadership skills throughout San Luis Obispo as head of Leadership SLO since 2010, following more than a dozen years as executive director of the San Luis Obispo Symphony.

Full of compassion and with a proven track record as an interim leader, Sandi is a first-rate choice to maintain the Chamber’s culture and focus on strategic goals though this transitional time. She has earned respect and confidence not just from the Chamber Board and staff, but the community as a whole.

Sandi will assume the interim role July 9, with current President/CEO Ermina Karim continuing to provide limited strategic support after she steps down June 29. Through this time, Sandi will continue her commitment to the Leadership SLO program.

Meanwhile, our search committee will continue its work to identify Ermina’s long-term replacement. We are engaging a search firm and expect to have a new Chamber leader in place within four to six months.

Thanks for your support during this effort, and I hope you’ll join us in welcoming Sandi to the position over the coming months.

Sincerely,
Geri LaChance
2018 SLO Chamber Chair
