The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County announced today that Janice Fong Wolf will be retiring from the Community Foundation where she has served as director of grants and programs for more than 16 years. Wolf will continue at the Foundation through May to ensure a smooth and successful transition for the CFSLOCO’s grants and programs.
“Janice has been instrumental in building the grants program at the Foundation and supporting our vision since the Foundation’s earliest days,” CFSLOCO Chief Executive Officer Heidi McPherson said. Wolf was one of the Foundation’s first employees, coming on board in 2000, just two years after the Foundation was established. McPherson added that the Foundation is reviewing the staffing needs of the organization and preparing a new job description. A new position will be posted later this year.
“The Foundation and the community have been fortunate to have Janice’s dedication and support for the needs of our residents at the forefront of her service for so many years,” Community Foundation Board Chair Steve McCarty said. “Her commitment to San Luis Obispo County and the nonprofit community has been exemplary.”
“It has been an honor to help establish the grants programs and work with such a dedicated staff who work to advance the Foundation’s mission each and every day,” Wolf said.
The Community Foundation has provided grants totaling more than $28 million to the local community. The Foundation’s assets under management have grown to more than $50 million, and provide support to all aspects of our community in perpetuity.
