John Spatafore has shaped San Luis Obispo in more ways than most will ever realize.

He helped establish the group that created the Damon-Garcia Sports Fields. The Performing Arts Center, Cal Poly Arts and Arts Obispo are all thriving because of the commitment that he has given them. And the lives of countless children have been shaped by the years that he spent on the SLO Coastal Unified School District Board of Trustees, California School Board Association, and the superintendent’s budget task force.

That’s not to mention what he has accomplished for the homeless in SLO County.

After years of meetings, proposals, compromise, controversy, meetings, creativity, persistence, meetings, and guidance, Spatafore helped to create the Homeless Foundation of SLO County, forged key partnerships and recently broke ground on a new homeless services center.
