Sandi Sigurdson, a graduate of Leadership San Luis Obispo Class 1, has served as our beloved Executive Director of the program since 2010. When she announced her retirement earlier this year, we launched a search committee to oversee the process of selecting Leadership SLO’s next rockstar Director.

The committee is comprised of three individuals appointed by the Leadership SLO Board of Directors (Ron Yukelson, Ryan Hostetter, and Janice Fong-Wolf), three from the SLO Chamber Board of Directors (Monica Grant, LeBren Harris, Lee Johnson), and SLO Chamber President and CEO, Jim Dantona.

The job posting went live on June 15, and closed exactly one month later. We received nearly 70 applications, some from around the world, as well as many locally.

By creating a search committee to oversee the hiring process, the Chamber sought to encourage diverse perspectives and a distributed decision-making process. We are looking to onboard our new Executive Director for Leadership Development by the end of September.

We are excited to bring on our new Director before Class 29 of Leadership SLO is selected, as it is important that they are involved in this process. The new Director will also manage our Insight Studio event series. By putting these complimentary programs under one directorship, the Chamber hopes to bring leadership education in our community to the next level. Our new director’s skill set and breadth of connection to the community will allow both programs to grow.

This position will have the opportunity to increase Leadership SLO’s inclusivity, engage our alumni in new ways, amplify the mission and enhance its operation. Exciting growth is on the horizon for our next class of Leadership SLO. Join us in seeing what’s possible by applying now for Class 29 of Leadership SLO.
