Lief McKay has recently been named a principal at RRM Design Group, a San Luis Obispo based design firm comprised of architects, civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, structural engineers, and surveyors. As a member of RRM’s landscape architecture team, Lief brings his extensive 
knowledge, portfolio, and encouraging leadership style to his new role.
Lief started with RRM as a summer intern and after graduating college was asked to join the landscape architecture team and has been with the company throughout his entire 17 year career. Lief has worked on an extensive portfolio of projects for both public and private clients including parks, trails, and open space to fire stations and residential projects. Lief’s excellent design and technical skills are complemented by his expertise at project management and community outreach.
Lief has worked on many noteworthy local projects including the San Luis Obispo Skate Park, Rancho Grande Park in Arroyo Grande, Morro Bay Harborwalk, as well as projects throughout the state including the Taylor Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve in Sonoma County, San Lorenzo Community Park, Ojai Arcade Plaza, Buellton Avenue of the Flags, and the Whittier Greenway Trail.
A longtime resident of San Luis Obispo, Lief is actively involved in the local community mentoring for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and as a member of the San Luis Obispo Rugby Football Club. Professionally, Lief is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is a LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) Accredited Professional.
