Location is everything for PolyPay, a new local company specializing in merchant processing and mobile commerce. Unlike many of their competitors, PolyPay is able to create one-on-one relationships with their clients. They value their availability to clients and face-to‐face interaction.
PolyPay’s offices are located in the Court Street Center in the heart of downtown on the corner of Higuera St. and Osos St. They enjoy a beautiful third floor view, overlooking one of America’s top 10 main streets. This location allows them to be just a short walk away from the clients they have downtown. It is also convenient to get to clients in the surrounding area outside of San Luis Obispo.
As a new company they are learning what it takes to gain recognition within the community. They are currently working with over 30 clients in San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas including Los Osos and Arroyo Grande. Some well-‐known businesses that they are working with include Gus’s Grocery and Sidecar.
Coming up on their one-‐year anniversary, PolyPay began as an idea to offer merchant processing to the local community on a more personal level. CEO Jamie Barlett has a background in the banking industry and a passion for entrepreneurship. PolyPay has proved they can compete with larger merchant processors, however their ability to work directly with their clients has given them a huge advantage.
PolyPay has grown to be a company composed of mainly Cal Poly graduates and has created the opportunity to keep alumni local. With Jamie’s expertise and the alumni’s fresh take on the industry, their goal is to continue to gain recognition, as well as expand their client base and company as a whole.
