Verdin Marketing announced Operation COY as the winner and recipient of their 24-Hour Give. Operation COY (Coaching Our Youth) will be receiving a total rebrand over the course of 24 hours, as well as video and printing services and media time to run their new advertising, all totaling over $80,000.
Gary Davis, a Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo alum and former NFL Running Back of the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, founded Operation COY. The nonprofit is a coaching/sports-based residential camp for at-risk boys from 13 to 17 who exhibit various behavioral problems. Operation COY teaches the campers tools so they can rely on themselves like leadership, problem solving and other skills to allow them to positively impact the path of their lives.
“We are so honored to win this rebrand and owe it to all of our supporters who voted for Operation COY,” said Executive Director Gary Davis. “This is truly a gift that will serve us in immeasurable ways, and this generosity will help boys find the right path for years to come.”
The 24-Hour Give will take place over the course of 24 hours from Thursday, Nov. 20 to Friday, Nov. 21. The Verdin team, along with their partners, will give the nonprofit a total rebrand, utilizing all of its departments and services, at no cost. Verdin employees will spend this full day and night strategizing, planning and developing everything that goes into a brand including creating a new logo, marketing materials, website, business cards and letterhead.
Verdin will be working with community partners who have committed to supporting the project with in-kind donations. Those who have volunteered to donate include ITECH Solutions, Red Canary, Mac Superstore, Central Coast Printing, PrintPal Promotions & Printing, UPS Store (Marigold Center), Farmer & Ready, and Left Coast T-shirt Company. Media outlets who have committed to donating space and airtime are Charter Media, The Tribune and sanluisobispo.com, El Dorado Broadcasters, KCOY/KEYT/FOX, The Krush, KJUG, New Times Media Group, SLO Life Magazine and Tolosa Press.
“All three of the nonprofit finalists were so worthy of this rebrand,” said Mary Verdin, president of Verdin. “We are so happy with the outcome of the 24-Hour Give contest and really looking forward to working with Operation COY for such a worthy cause.”
