Time to wine a bit – the Chamber’s Visitor Center in downtown San Luis Obispo now features wine from a dozen local wineries.

The new bottle shop provides one more reason to stop in the Visitors Center, offering a variety of price points matching what you’d pay in tasting rooms and the convenience of picking up a taste of SLO County in the heart of downtown.

“It’s an opportunity for member wineries to get in front of more people, for the chamber to showcase a key industry for both locals and visitors, and for visitors to take home a taste of SLO,” said Visitor Center Manager Dusty Colyer-Worth.

The selection highlights the region’s diverse array of wines, with bottles from Edna Valley, Paso Robles and beyond, including classic cabernets, spicy zinfandels and red-hot Rhônes as well as chic chardonnays, aromatic alternative whites and rosé for all day.

The shop also added an exclusive new selection of wine bags, corkscrews and wine tool sets that are perfect for gifting, heading out for a picnic or decking out your home bar.

While you browse, let our friendly and knowledgeable Visitor Center staff help plan your next wine country outing. They can help you build an itinerary and recommend the best experiences the region has to offer (and maybe even throw in a few tasting room deals).

The opportunity to participate was offered to all member wineries, with the first dozen to respond selected for the initial debut. Colyer-Worth expects to add additional wineries and rotate offerings as the project moves forward.

Wine sales are just one more reason to stop in the Visitor Center, which offers a wealth of information about the area—from places to eat, visit, stay and play to resources for businesses looking to relocate to the area or already operating here—as well as a variety of special, SLO-made products.

The Visitor Center offers a valuable membership benefit, with opportunities to spread the word about your business or organization through pamphlets and displays, products for sale and our highly trained staff serving more than 80,000 visitors and locals annually.

IMG_8750We are open seven days a week, so spread the word to friends, family, clients and neighbors to stop by and peruse the wine as well as other SLO-created member products.

“Come on in and see all the resources we have—and pick something up,” Colyer-Worth said.
