e-InsiderRedevelopment plans for the Fosters Freeze location at the northwest corner of Marsh and Nipomo streets are moving forward. Initial plans call for a mixed-use project with 10,800 sq. ft. of commercial space and up to 22 one and two-bedroom units on the second through fourth floors. A similar project was approved for the site in 2008. The developer, PB Companies, is planning to include the lot at 578 Marsh St., current home to Feather’s Salon, in the project as well. Both the salon and Fosters Freeze location would need to be demolished to accommodate the proposed project. Initial designs are for a contemporary building with varied roof heights and balconies. Meanwhile, insiders report that the same developer is currently in escrow on 581 Higuera St., former home of Heritage Oaks Bank, and preliminary plans are for a mixed-use building there as well.
