The San Luis Obispo Master Chorale – a part of Cuesta College’s Community Programs – is gearing up for two performances of Carl Orff’s popular work Carmina Burana, featuring the Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo and Central Coast Children’s Choir. Performances will take place Saturday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Cal Poly’s Performing Arts Center’s Harman Hall.

Carmina Burana was composed in the 1930’s and features a musical compilation based on 24 poems written in the 11 and 12 centuries. Conducted by Cal Poly Professor Dr. Thomas Davies, the 100-voice chorale will feature solos by soprano Elissa Johnston, Mexican American tenor Tim Gonzales, and baritone and Atascadero High School alum Gabriel Manro.

Tickets available at the door, or online; more information about the concert can also be found online.
