Central Coast Vietnam War Veterans Coffee Meetup
National Vietnam Veterans Day
Inviting Central Coast Veterans who served during the Vietnam War era to gather with us on March 29th, National Vietnam War Memorial Day – the day when Americans unite to thank and honor Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
We welcome you to come gather with other veterans who served during the Vietnam War era for coffee, conversation and comradery. Two guest speakers, local Vietnam War combat veterans, will give a brief talk about their veteran stories and the significance of March 29th, National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Coffee will be provided by local, veteran-owned roaster and cafe: Coastal Peaks Coffee. Muffins, pastries, water bottles and lite snacks will also be available.
Veterans are invited to sit for a portrait photo solo, with a spouse or support person. They are welcome to personalize their portrait photo however they choose. Sit or stand for the photo, hold a photo of them in service, hold a memento from their service, etc. Complimentary portrait photo will be hosted at the coffee meetup by local photographer and realtor, Matt Sansone with SLO.Photos.

The Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum (CCVMM), est. 2002, located in San Luis Obispo, is a community supported nonprofit history museum, with the mission to HONOR and REMEMBER all veterans from past and present, with emphasis on those from the Central Coast of California.
In 2023, the Museum was recognized by the US Library of Congress for their extensive work recording over 500+ veteran oral histories, an ongoing project at the museum supported by donations and ran by dedicated community volunteers, free for all veterans to record their story of service. If you are a veteran who has not yet recorded your story of service, contact the museum to schedule your free veteran story interview.
Also, in 2023, the US Department of Defense, inducted the Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum into the 50th Vietnam War Commemoration Partner program, in recognition of the Museum’s ongoing efforts to remember, thank, and honor veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action, for their service and sacrifice. The museum is honored to be a 50th Vietnam War Commemoration Partner and will continue to honor and thank Vietnam Veterans through exhibits, education programs and events.
