The California Dream Fund is a one-time, $35 million grant program through the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz) to seed entrepreneurship and small business creation in the State of California. New entrepreneurs and small business owners have the opportunity to complete an intensive technical training program through participating Women’s Business Centers. Following successful completion of the 12-week training and consulting program, graduates can be eligible to apply for a grant of up to $10,000. Previous course graduates may also be eligible to apply. The Women’s Business Center has $250,000 in grant funding available.

The Women’s Business Centers, serving San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties, will be hosting training courses in English and Spanish starting in September. in this eight-week series followed by four mentoring sessions, participants will learn how to turn their business ideas into a simple business plan while taking action to define their business earning potential. The courses have a $1,895 value and will be offered for a $100 deposit, refundable upon graduation or it may be fully or partially donated to support other aspiring entrepreneurs.
