The City of San Luis Obispo invites community members to two more public input opportunities for the 2024 Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) Update. On June 5 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, the City and San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (SLORTA) staff will hold a joint Mass Transportation Committee (MTC) and Regional Transit Advisory Committee (RTAC) meeting to present progress on the SRTP update including review of preliminary findings from the service alternatives analysis. This service alternatives analyzes ridership and cost impacts of a variety of potential changes/improvements to both SLO Transit’s and to SLORTA services.
After the joint committee meeting, staff is holding a community workshop on the same day from 5:30pm to 7:30pm to present the same information and to receive feedback. This meeting is to give community members that are unable to attend the earlier committee meeting a chance to review the service alternative findings and weigh on which alternatives they would like to see in the SRTP update.
Committee members, public transit riders, stakeholders, and other interested members of the public, will then have an opportunity to provide input on the findings. Community input and staff comments will be used to select preferred service alternatives to incorporate into to the Administrative Draft of the Plan. The Draft Plan will be brought back to both committees in late September or early October for further review and comment.
The City will hold two Short Range Transit Plan Public Meetings in-person on June 5 and the Ludwick Community Center to get community feedback on the findings of the service alternatives working paper. Comments and questions can also be emailed to [email protected].
