The Civic Ballet of San Luis Obispo unveils a groundbreaking contemporary ballet adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at Harold Miossi Hall, Performing Arts Center, on April 18-19, 2025.
Artistic Director Drew Silvaggio breathes new life into L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale with dynamic choreography and a fresh musical interpretation. Featuring an all-new score inspired by iconic American music, this world-premiere production showcases a live 11-piece jazz orchestra, highlighting renowned Central Coast musicians Inga Swearingen, Damon Castillo and Dave Becker.
Perfect for all ages, this fresh take on “America’s greatest and best-loved fairytale” (Library of Congress) promises a mesmerizing blend of dance and music.
