Erica A. Stewart, who is seeking election to Mayor of San Luis Obispo, will officially launch her campaign on the steps of city hall on Friday, May 31st at 12:30pm.  Friends, supporters and members of the community are invited to come out and meet the mayor and learn more about her platform and campaign.  Stewart, the first person of African American descent to serve on the San Luis Obispo City Council and Mayor, hopes to continue her goals of representing all people of SLO by sustained focus on issues of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Housing Affordability and Economic Development.

A graduate of Cal Poly and a longtime San Luis Obispo resident, Stewart is currently a Lecturer for the Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts and Co-Owner of Albert’s Florist. She has a diverse professional background, including working for the medical, manufacturing, and restaurant industries as well as owning a small wholesale bakery business. She has a long history of volunteerism and philanthropy in the city and county of San Luis Obispo. Stewart has demonstrated her ability to find common ground, working with and for all residents of San Luis Obispo.
