KCBX recently welcomed Chris McBride as Development Director to oversee fundraising and outreach activities for the San Luis Obispo based NPR network station. Greg Perry, who previously held the role, will continue in a support role for KCBX and its annual event, the Live Oak Music Festival.

McBride said she has been a fan of KCBX for years, and is excited to join the staff. “From news and music to attending the Live Oak Music Festival with my family, KCBX has been a constant for me throughout the years, and I’m thrilled to be part of such an important community resource,” McBride said.

Frank Lanzone, KCBX General Manager, remarked “I am happy to have Chris join our KCBX team and community. Her longtime community standing and her successful fundraising experience make her a great match for KCBX.”

For more than a decade, McBride held the role of director of annual giving at Cal Poly, where she expanded alumni and parent giving through new giving initiatives such as crowdfunding, giving days and digital stewardship. As the Performing Arts Center’s first outreach director in 1996, McBride established and grew the school matinee and community outreach programs at the PAC.
