Port San Luis Harbor District has issued a Request for Proposals to award a Lease Agreement to business entities interested in operating a thriving retail market, deli, or related retail services in the heart of California’s Central Coast. This opportunity offers the chance to serve the local community and visitors while contributing to the Harbor District’s dynamic operations.

The available site, located within the Trailer Boat Launch building, has a rich history of serving as a retail market with offerings such as general merchandise, soft serve ice cream, cold drinks, pastries and coffee. The District is seeking lessees whose vision aligns with the following key objectives:

· Support Economic Growth: Provide a profitable enterprise that benefits both the lessee and the Harbor District.

· Meet Community Needs: Deliver quality goods, food, and beverages at reasonable prices for the District’s patrons.

· Maximize Rental Potential: Operate in a way that enhances the rental income for the District while maintaining accessibility and public use.

Why Port San Luis Harbor?

Situated in the picturesque Central Coast of California, the Port San Luis Harbor is one of only two protected harbors in San Luis Obispo County. Surrounded by charming coastal towns, the Harbor is a hub for recreational and commercial activities. Its natural beauty and strategic location make it an ideal setting for a thriving business.

A Unique Business Space

The lease site offers approximately 1.5 miles of accessible beaches, proximity to Avila and Harford Piers, RV camping, and other Harbor District amenities. The space has undergone substantial improvements by the previous tenant, including enhanced flooring, lighting, and utility upgrades. It also features a shared public access area, adding to its appeal for community-oriented businesses. Established in 1954, the Port San Luis Harbor District is a subdivision of the State of California governed by a five-member Harbor Commission.
