The San Luis Obispo County Integrated Waste Management Authority is conducting a survey to learn more about residents’ motivations and behaviors around recycling. Residents are invited to take this brief survey to help the IWMA improve countywide recycling and compost programs. The survey is anonymous and should take no more than 5 minutes.

The SLO County Integrated Waste Management Authority (IWMA) is a regional government agency that oversees solid waste and recycling programs for the 7 cities, 12 community service districts and unincorporated area of San Luis Obispo. The IWMA was formed in 1994 to help its member jurisdictions comply with California state waste and recycling mandates. The IWMA currently operates 44 mandatory programs related to organic waste recycling, hazardous waste management and landfill reduction.
