San Luis Obispo-based artist/designer, Kevin Akers is a featured artist at Gallery 113 in Santa Barbara for the month of February. His collection of paintings on show explore fame, designed to bring joy and color into human spaces while making us all appreciate our own unique, human qualities. Personalities such as Jacqueline Kennedy, Lucille Ball, Sammy Davis, Jr., Mark Twain, Marilyn Monroe and a host of other dignitaries will adorn the upstairs mezzanine.
1st Thursday is an evening of art and culture in downtown Santa Barbara. On Thursday, February 1st, participating galleries and art-related venues offer free access to visual and performing art in a fun and social environment from 5-8pm. 1st Thursday venues feature attractions such as art openings, live music, artists’ receptions, lectures, wine tastings and hands-on activities.
Gallery 113 will present Kevin’s paintings along with other talented artists of the Central Coast and the Santa Barbara Art Association, founded over 60 years ago. Chamber Members are cordially invited to the opening reception, 1st Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5-8pm.
