In honor of Hunger Action Month, the SLO Food Bank is inviting local businesses to join HEARThttps://www.slofoodbank.org/heart/ (Hunger Ending Action Response Team) to help sustain vital programs that nourish neighbors in need. During the month of September, The Balay Ko Foundation will instantly quadruple a year’s worth of any recurring donation initiated by a business with the SLO Food Bank, up to $500,000.
In the past year, the SLO Food Bank has seen a 16% increase in the number of people seeking their assistance, now providing essential services to over 36,500 people each month. Many of these individuals work in hospitality, retail and food service—the very folks who contribute to the vibrancy and warmth of our community. The consistent support and dedication of the SLO Food Bank’s recurring donors make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need daily.
The SLO Food Bank will publicly acknowledge the support of businesses who join their HEART network across multiple platforms, including their warehouse, social media channels, website and annual report, reaching thousands of their supporters. In addition to this recognition, businesses may also be eligible for tax benefits as a result of their generosity.
Sustained donations provided by HEART members provide the SLO Food Bank with ample opportunity to plan and allocate resources in the most effective way possible. This stability can lead to more efficient operations, ensuring no one in the community goes hungry.
