The San Luis Obispo Master Chorale is thrilled to announce its return to the stage for the first time since December 2019. The 2021/2022 season will begin with the sixth annual holiday performance of Handel’s Messiah and other seasonal selections.

On December 18, 2021, the San Luis Obispo Master Chorale will present its Holiday Festival, featuring part I of Handel’s Messiah and other seasonal favorites. This year’s extravaganza will also feature the return of guest artists Westwood Brass. This is the third time that this young, energetic ensemble has performed with the Master Chorale. In addition, attendees will hear the Master Chorale Orchestra perform the famous A Christmas Festival composed by Leroy Anderson. The orchestra will then join the Master Chorale to end the evening with colorful carol arrangements by Mark Hayes and Mack Wilberg. Soloists for part I of Messiah include Amy Goymeric, soprano; Susan Davies, mezzo; George Gorrindo, tenor; and David Dong-Geun Kim, bass. The entire evening will be led by Music Director Thomas Davies.

The SLO Master Chorale is continuing to closely monitor the current health concerns, and the safety of the singers, guests, and staff is the top priority while preparing for the season. The Master Chorale will adhere to all health and safety requirements issued by the State of California, San Luis Obispo County, and the venue, the Performing Arts Center. Community members are encouraged to continue checking the Master Chorale’s website for the latest news about the season. An electronic version of the season brochure is available on the website as well.

All performances will be given in Harold Miossi Hall at the San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center on the Cal Poly campus. Tickets to all performances are available for purchase at www.pacslo.org or by calling the PAC box office at (805)756-4849.
