SLO Partners, a program of the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, a leading provider of career upskilling and apprenticeship programs in California, announced the successful graduation of 70 students from its recent Hospitality Bootcamp on June 3. These graduates now have the skills to secure careers in the region. Some have already secured employment with companies including Allegretto Resorts & Martin Resorts.

In partnership with the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance (PRWCA), the Hospitality Bootcamp provided fast-tracked training for current and aspiring hospitality professionals, featuring customer service training, resume and interview skills and a local job fair. Participants included high school students from Career Tech Education Business pathway at Paso Robles High School, community members of all ages and those newly employed in the hospitality industry. 

18 local employers actively engaged in the program. Sensorio, Justin Winery, Criu Hospitality, Martin Resorts, Allegretto Resorts among others were present at the job fair, offering real-life networking and job opportunities.

“We’ve long recognized the importance of investing in local talent, and the Hospitality Bootcamp has provided a valuable opportunity for us to connect with locals eager to work in our industry,” said Pati Coelho, Owner of Criu Hospitality Professionals. “The skills gained by the students perfectly align with our industry needs, making them attractive candidates. The program not only benefits the participants but also strengthens our community by helping secure a vibrant future for the local hospitality sector.”

“It was a very eye-opening event as I’ve learned about many jobs that could fit my interests for my future careers”, said Paso Robles High School Senior Patrick Boling.

“Overall this was a great intro to the Industry and I enjoyed learning about Paso Robles and the wine region,” said bootcamp graduate Jim Stobie.

“It was a great opportunity to network and connect with my community,” said bootcamp graduate Chenoa Wilkerson.

Typically 60-70% of SLO Partners graduates acquire job offers and secure 30% pay rises after securing a job.
