The City of San Luis Obispo has published its 2025 State of the City Report, providing community members with an engaging look at how their City government is making progress on major goals and community priorities.

The report is filled with highlights, data and real-world impacts that show how San Luis Obispo is working to be a more welcoming, sustainable and vibrant place to live, work and play.

Fun Facts from the New Report

  • 66+ miles of trails and 13 open spaces maintained across more than 4,000 acres
  • 13,414 trees cared for by City crews
  • Nearly 600,000 transit trips taken in 2024
  • 1.6 billion gallons of drinking water delivered
  • Laguna Lake Dog Park got a major upgrade, complete with new turf, play structures and shade
  • 474 affordable housing units were occupied, under construction or permitted, including supportive housing at Welcome Home Village
  • 8 new public electric vehicle chargers installed, with more coming by year-end
  • $860,000 in local spending generated through the City’s Buy Local Bonus programs
  • $4.86 million grant secured to expand high-speed internet to thousands of residents

In addition to celebrating progress, the report outlines the six new Major City Goals for fiscal years 2025–27, including homelessness response, climate resilience, infrastructure investment and more.
