Laguna Lake Bike Park Dirt Jumps Construction
Help the Ranger Service division build out the last parts of the new bike park at Laguna Lake. Using hand tools, practicing jumps and learning how to create dirt bike trail systems, alongside Rangers and fellow volunteers, community members are invited to pitch in and enjoy the fresh air and physical nature of this volunteer role. Support a long-term collaborative project aiming to restore grasslands and assist in building beaver dam analogs at the Johnson Ranch Open Space on a rolling, ongoing basis. This is a great opportunity to blend hiking with service as a group or individual and learn about native habitat restoration!

Engage SLO is the City’s online volunteer portal aimed at connecting passionate community members with meaningful volunteer opportunities to contribute to the betterment of the community.
Creating an account gives the opportunity to easily view and sign up for volunteer roles, manage your volunteer schedule, track your hours / contribution and access valuable resources. Please contact them at [email protected] with any questions or support needs.
How to volunteer with the City:
- Create a free and data-safe account by completing a few questions on Engage SLO, volunteer.slocity.org/user/register.
- Find a service opportunity that matches your availability and interests, click respond to submit Volunteer Waiver and confirm Emergency Contact Information.
- Log back in after 24 hours (giving the Volunteer Program time to review/approve the Waiver) and click respond again to add name to the roster!
- Show up, have fun and log hours in the volunteer portal once your shift is complete.
