The City of San Luis Obispo is accepting applications for the 2026-27 Human Services Grant primarily to prevent and address homelessness in San Luis Obispo. Applications are due February 24 at 5 p.m. The City plans to award the funds this summer.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will host technical assistance office hours on Wednesday, February 4 between 1 and 4 p.m. for potential applicants that have specific questions on the grant and/or grant process. Please email [email protected] to reserve a spot!

The City is offering a total of $150,000 in funding through the Human Services Grant to nonprofit organizations with services and programs focused primarily addressing and preventing homelessness in San Luis Obispo. This can include programs that provide:

  1. Permanent housing solutions
  2. Homelessness prevention activities
  3. Interim housing solutions
  4. Non-housing solutions.

The City will also accept grant applications for programs or services that prevent hunger and malnutrition; support physical and mental health; support seniors, veterans, and/or people with disabilities; provide support, development and care for children and youth in need; and/or encourage diversity, equity and inclusivity.

All qualified applications that meet the main funding priority will be funded first. After qualified main priority applications are funded, applications for the secondary funding priorities will be considered. Detailed information for each category listed above can be found on the Human Services Grant webpage.
