The SLO Children’s Museum has hosted Moonlight Hours, an access program that waives admission for all visitors from 5-7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, since 2008. Since then, close to 30,000 guests have entered for free. The 30,000th guest to visit during an upcoming Moonlight Hours evening will receive a free family membership, a museum T-shirt and admission passes to share with friends.
Moonlight Hours is one of the many programs that helps the Children’s Museum to welcome all children in our community: Sensory Night is scheduled quarterly and hosts, at no charge, neurodivergent children and their families; in partnership with the SLO County Library, children signing up for a library card receive a free admission pass; Guests with SNAP/EBT benefits enter for only $3 as part of the national Museums for All program; and discounts are available to Military families.
Annual memberships are also affordable. Options range from only $95 for two members to $195 for six. All memberships last one full year and include discounts on guest admissions, birthday parties and Shop purchases. Two levels include reciprocal benefits, enabling guests to visit more than 200 participating children’s museums for fifty percent off.
