On Sunday, September 1, Michael Nowak and Orchestra Novo go Hollywood as they bring movie music to life onstage at the Alex Madonna Expo Center. The 5th Annual Pops ON! will be a splendid celebration of Michael’s rich Hollywood legacy with Orchestra Novo’s family and friends. As always, the community is invited to circle up for picnics at this indoor Boston-style Pops.
This year’s special musical guests are Central Coast leading lady and gifted chanteuse, Jennifer Blomfield, and SLO County Office of Education Supervisor and tenor extraordinaire, James Brescia. And, as always, the real musical stars are the members of Orchestra Novo. They’re truly delighted to have San Luis Obispo’s Mayor Heidi Harmon as our Mistress of Ceremonies.
Once again, there will be a guest conductor to lead the orchestra for a special musical piece, wide-spread picnicking, and conviviality for all who attend. Wine, spirits, and beer are available for purchase onsite from the Madonna Inn.
They encourage guests to add some movie flare to their table with cinema-themed decor or to come as your favorite film star. There will also be a Hollywood-themed photo station for DIY commemorative photos.
A film score creates the sweeping romance, daring adventure, and thrilling suspense for any movie. Orchestra Novo invites you to delight in your favorites on this magical afternoon. It promises to be a spirited day of food, connection, and engaging music.
For over 4 decades, Michael Nowak has performed on or led Hollywood orchestras for every variety of soundtrack.
