Mother’s Tavern donated $2,294 while kicking off Table 48 program during National Mentor Month in January. Table number 48 is a particular table at Mother’s Tavern, which donates its net proceeds to non-profits.
Patty Carpenter, Development Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters said, “We are grateful for the opportunity Mother’s Tavern gave us with Table 48. Their donation is helping us fulfill our mission to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Mother’s Tavern has donated over $6,000 to non-profits to date. This is a tremendous platform for non-profits in San Luis Obispo County and we hope other restaurants will consider this program as well.” Rhonda Sims, Event Coordinator for Mother’s Tavern said, “With many organizations asking for our help with fundraising activities and donations, Table 48 was our way to streamline the process and support the organizations that do so much for our community. Each month a different non-profit is showcased at table number 48. All proceeds from sales at that specific table are donated to the featured charity. We were happy to support Big Brothers Big Sisters in January.”

About Big Brothers Big Sisters:
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent within every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Most children they serve are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. As a part of the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, they make meaningful, monitored friendships between adult volunteers and children. Funding provides for a system of ongoing evaluation and support that is proven by independent studies to help families by improving the odds that participating children will perform better in school, avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with their parents and others.
