The revamp and facelift of the former Daylight Home & Garden space at 1234 Monterey St. is near completion and is already signing new tenants. The fully redesigned and redeveloped commercial center features seven retail and office spaces, with a couple designed to be combined to form larger spaces. The vision of the project, according to insiders, is to fill the Monterey Street-facing spaces with retail and restaurants and use the other locations for salons and professional offices. One tenant, an Italian deli, has already signed on. The update of this complex, less than two blocks from the downtown core, is another step towards a revamp of this section of Monterey Street which has seen the addition of many new shops and dining options in the last few years including the recently redeveloped Monterey Street Garage at 1330 Monterey St. that now houses iFixit.
