The National Republican Congressional Committee recently announced the addition of Justin Fareed to the “Contenders” phase of its Young Guns program. Candidates who are added to this second phase of the program have met stringent metrics-based requirements and demonstrated the development of an effective campaign organization.

“Justin’s addition to the ‘Contenders’ list shows that the NRCC believes there is a great opportunity for Justin to win this seat in November,” commented Austin Stukins, Fareed’s campaign manager. “Justin has shown he has the ability to build significant support and that the campaign is gaining momentum going into the general election.”

In a press release, NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers said, “We have an impressive, hardworking field of candidates across the country, and these Contenders are no exception. As primary season continues, and we move into the general election, the NRCC is proud to support these proven champions through victory in November.”

Justin Fareed is a candidate for California’s 24th Congressional District. He also is President of Pro Band Sports Industries, a local small business, and is a third-generation cattle rancher. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Political Science, Justin worked for a senior member of Congress. While on Capitol Hill he drafted legislation with a focus on foreign relations, small business, and agriculture, and successfully formed bipartisan consensus to move that legislation forward.
