Picking Daisies has been chosen as one of the top-10 quilt shops in the nation by Better Homes and Garden Quilt Sampler Magazine. The Fall/ Winter 2019 issue is being released this week, and includes a 5-page feature on Picking Daisies.
This past February, a team from the magazine came out to San Luis Obispo to photograph the shop, do an interview, and explore San Luis Obispo. The resulting feature in the magazine not only tells the story of Picking Daisies, but gives lots of love to San Luis Obispo.

In celebration, there will be a magazine release party at The Creamery Marketplace this Saturday, August 24, 9:00am – 1:00pm. Joliene Bakery and Withco Coffee will join in the celebration, offering a special brunch menu. There will be live acoustical music in the courtyard. All are welcome.
About Picking Daisies
Picking Daisies is a small quilt and fabric shop located in the newly remodeled Creamery Marketplace in downtown San Luis Obispo. The owners, Kay Porczak and Dede Bruington are sisters and both Cal Poly Graduates. The business started as a small napkin-making home craft business which grew in popularity… resulting in the opening of their brick and mortar shop in October of 2008. Shortly after that, they launched their web store and have continued to grow and expand. Focusing on brightly colored modern fabrics, they continue to sell their famous made-in-SLO cotton napkins along with a growing inventory of quilt and apparel fabric by the yard, books, patterns, notions, hand embroidery supplies, and offer a variety of classes.
