The New York Times called it “sheer joy.”

Powell’s Sweet Shoppe has been in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles for seven years and “To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Powell’s will be handing out free Willy Wonka candy at both the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles locations,” said Miranda Battenburg, owner and manager of Powell’s Sweet Shoppe in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Adults and children are free to come in and enjoy watching Willy Wonka’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory all day long and celebrate with us on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014. Powell’s Sweet Shoppe franchise is built around taking adults and children down memory lane with assortment of nostalgia candy and sodas. Both local stores are located in the downtown areas of San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.
