Vibe Health Lounge, the Central Coast’s newest day spa, continues to break ground with treatments that put a modern twist on ancient healing remedies.  As a new generation of seekers are turning to plant medicine for spiritual growth, a safe and trusted method of expansion has now been developed within the spa community. Putting this into practice, the latest addition to Vibe’s innovative menu of Transforming Rituals is the Third Eye Activation, a 90-minute experience that combines cutting edge sound and light technology with the Ayurvedic ritual of Shirodhara.

Shirodhara is a classical and well-established treatment of slowly and steadily releasing warm herb-infused oil out of a hanging copper vessel onto the third eye (center of forehead). The oil gently drips off the forehead and collects into a basin.  Of Indian origin and dating back thousands of years, the energetic and physical properties of this treatment are significant. Benefits of Shirodhara include relieving stress and anxiety, reducing headaches, improving sleep quality, and awakening intuition.

The Lucia N°03 light is state-of-the-art wellness technology from Austria that generates different frequencies of flickering and solid light. The pineal gland receives the light through closed eyes and simultaneously sends signals that regulate brain waves and the central nervous system. The light facilitates an EEG wave pattern that usually shows up after years of meditation, bringing a level of relaxation to the nervous system sometimes never experienced before. The brain then moves from beta (alert cognition) to an alpha-theta wave state, igniting relaxation, creativity, and deep meditation.

The Third Eye Activation treatment begins with an opening ritual, stimulating the senses and guiding the nervous system to a deeper state of relaxation. The provider clears the space with the smoke of Palo Santo, prompting both the provider and the guest to set an intention for the journey.  A hint of sound therapy using tuning forks, crystal bowls or Tibetan chimes are grazed over the guest to release stagnant energy surrounding their auric field.  Aromatherapy, breathwork and a guided meditation ignites the body’s parasympathetic state, allowing the body to rest and digest. The opening ritual completes with the sacred offering of a foot cleanse using anointing oils and warmed gemstones.

For the next 20 minutes, the ancient practice of Shirodhara unfolds.  The guest lays comfortably on the table and receives the benefits of warm nourishing oil flowing onto the forehead, unlocking the mind, and releasing stress stored there.  This practice induces a relaxed state of awareness which results in a total feeling of wellness, mental clarity, and comprehension.

While the client’s eyes remain closed, the Lucia N°03 replaces the space of the copper vessel and uses light frequencies to interact with and open the third eye, deep in the center of the pineal gland. The Lucia awakens a visual display of sacred geometry and color, similar to a psychedelic journey, bringing the unconscious world to life.  As they move further into the experience, the guest’s body unwinds even more, and they gains access to subconscious resources that help create a place where tangible healing can occur.

“There are many benefits to using plant-medicine as therapy,” said founder Christina Webster. “What this treatment can offer is a similar psychedelic experience without the use of mind-altering substances.  The significance of awakening our pineal gland is yet to be fully understood. However, I can say that many go on a journey like nothing they have ever experienced, receiving profound healing benefits and igniting conscious creativity.”
