Rachel Whalen has been on the SLO Chamber team for more than three years, starting as SOAR Coordinator and moving into the role of Governmental Affairs Coordinator in early 2024. Rachel has now been named Director of Governmental Affairs, continuing her strong tenure with the organization and impressive track record of legislative advocacy.
“I’m thrilled to be continuing my governmental affairs work in a larger capacity,” said Rachel. “Between reimagining our Economic Vision, advocating for a better San Luis Obispo and working closely with the Better Roads for All SLO County team, it’s an invigorating time to be in this role and doing this work that helps shape our community to be the best version of itself.”
Having grown up in the area and graduated from Cal Poly, Rachel has deep roots in the San Luis Obispo community.
