The fourth annual SAVOR the Central Coast, which starts this Thursday and runs through Sunday, is making an impact on the local economy. The event has grown 20 percent each year since its inception in 2010, with roughly half of the attendees visiting from outside the area and drawing from 25 states including North Carolina and Florida. The wine and food event has historically attracted travelers with a combined household income of more than $100,000 annually. Visit San Luis Obispo County, which puts on the event, anticipates that it has sold 90 percent of their tickets in advance of the opening. This year’s event includes a 5k and 10K walk/run through San Luis Obispo on Sunday presented by the city and produced by the Central Coast Cancer Challenge.
