e-insiderCandidacy announcements for the three open San Luis Obispo City Council seats have begun to come in, and Mayor Jan Marx is leading the way with her run for a fourth term. The former deputy district attorney is currently serving as the president of the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments and will continue to focus on preserving San Luis Obispo’s outstanding natural, historical, social and cultural resources. The first resident to announce a candidacy for City Council was Brett Strickland, a supervisor and project lead for GP Strategies. A Cal Poly grad, Strickland is campaigning against reckless policies, wasteful spending and intrusive City ordinances. The most recent candidate is Andy Pease, principal at In Balance Green Consulting, who announced her run for council this morning at Good Morning San Luis Obispo. The architect, business owner and environmental leader plans to focus on economic vitality, housing affordability and environmental stewardship. An architecture graduate from MIT, Pease sits on the SLO Chamber Board of Directors.
