Growing from a single weekday medical clinic in 2009 to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering medical, dental, vision, and specialty services to over 20,000 uninsured residents since inception, the SLO Noor Foundation experienced its best year yet in 2018, serving 60% more patients than the year previous. Because of this success, the SLO Noor Foundation has formed a strong and cohesive development team, aiming to continue on this path of growth by increasing its involvement and outreach within the Central Coast community.

The SLO Noor Foundation is pleased to announce that Mitch Massey has accepted the position of Major Gifts Officer. “The excitement and enthusiasm Mitch have not only for our community but for our Foundation makes him an excellent fit,” states Abe Lincoln, Executive Director of SLO Noor Foundation. Mitch returns home to the Central Coast after four years in Newport Beach consulting in business and marketing strategy with organizations such as the Special Olympics of Southern California, Hearst Castle Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank Coalition, and United Way. Mitch is widely known in the Central Coast for his 12 years as sports director at KSBY and 14 years as an executive at Heritage Oaks Bank. “Mitch brings a wealth of experience, insights and connections in SLO County. I am confident his addition to our team will be key to us achieving our goals of continual expansion of our greatly-needed services in 2019,” said Lincoln. On a personal note, Mitch will be making his home in Cambria and is excited to be closer to his sons, Morgan and Michael, who live in Paso Robles. A competitive Masters runner, you may see Mitch putting in his weekly 30 miles on the roads and trails along the coast.

The SLO Noor Foundation has also hired Andi Cummins to be its Fundraising Event Coordinator. “Andi’s energy is simply infectious and her ideas are never-ending. I am so excited to utilize her talents to put together first-class events,” said Lincoln. For seven years, Andi ran a successful event planning business and has since assisted in marketing, branding, and production at both The Vine Intervention, LLC and a Santa Barbara-based winery, Drake Wines. Andi has also served on the Board of Directors at CASA, SLO since 2013 and has resided in San Luis Obispo with her family for the past 15 years.

With these new additions to the SLO Noor Foundation, Development Director Karenna Costa anticipates a much greater presence in San Luis Obispo County through a combination of fundraising events and local engagements in an effort to spread awareness and raise funds for its mission to offer free medical, dental, and vision services to uninsured Central Coast residents, regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, or socioeconomic status. The demand for our services will continue to grow in 2019 and our mission to provide high-quality healthcare to all who need us will not waiver. The SLO Noor Foundation is a local organization focused on helping your family members, neighbors, co-workers and friends. Please watch for our events throughout the year, especially in September.
