Sloco Massage + Wellness Spa is proud to announce its participation in the Green Spa Network (GSN) Tree Planting Initiative, an endeavor to mobilize the spa and wellness community to plant one million trees by Earth Day 2019. This effort is premised on the critical and urgent need to regenerate the earth using trees’ natural abilities to reverse climate change.
The initiative will track the spa and wellness industry’s overall progress, provide a common cause around which to rally and send a clear message that the spa and wellness industry cares to be recognized as a champion of environmentalism.
While reducing carbon emissions is critical, research suggests that even if those emissions came to a sudden halt, the carbon dioxide already in the Earth’s atmosphere could continue to warm our planet for hundreds of years. Therefore, the challenge is to reduce future carbon emissions and actively remove the excess carbon from our atmosphere.
Although Sloco is a small business, it hopes to inspire other businesses in the community (not just spas) to help combat global warming. Sloco pledges to donate money for a tree to be planted for every gift certificate over $50 sold during November & December. Trees are the best technology to suck carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reverse global warming. That is why Sloco has partnered with WeForest to help make this impact.
