Spokes, the nonprofit resource center for the Central Coast, is pleased to announce Consuelo Meux, Ph.D., as the new CEO. Meux replaces Spokes Founding CEO Lesley Santos, who has taken the position of Agency Business Consultant for Famers Insurance, Central Coast District. Santos will also serve as a member of the Spokes Board of Directors.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Meux’ leadership at Spokes; both the board and staff are impressed with her strong management skills and nonprofit proficiency,” says Jeff Franklin of TekTegrity, Spokes Board President.
Meux holds a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems with expertise in organizational behavior and development, women’s leadership styles, and issues of diversity and inclusion. Most recently, she served as a nonprofit executive director in San Luis Obispo County. Originally from Fresno County, Meux has taught at the Nonprofit Support Center of Fresno County, led a Small Business Development Center (SBDC), served as a Director of Development and Public Relations, and has held university faculty and administrative roles. She has served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa, and has traveled internationally assisting small business development. She is a member of the SLO County Commission on the Status of Women.
“I have been privileged to witness and experience Spokes’ programs. I am eager to guide the Spokes Team to continue helping nonprofits maintain compliance, achieve sustainability, and expand Spokes’ offerings to a larger audience,” says Meux.
