ABOUT THE SHOW

How much would you pay for a white painting? Would it matter who the painter was? Would it be art? Reza’s witty comedy delves into these questions through the conflict between three best friends and one solid white painting. One of Marc’s best friends, Serge, has just bought a very expensive painting. To Marc, the painting is a joke, but Serge insists Marc doesn’t have the proper standard to judge the work. Another friend, Ivan, allows himself to be pulled into this disagreement which escalates to often hilarious proportions. The result is a nonstop crossfire of bursting language and fierce ideas on the nature of art and friendship.

ART is directed by Kevin Harris, and features an extraordinary cast of professional actors including Timothy J. Cox, Travis Mitchell, and Lawrence Lesher. SLO REP fans may remember these three for their work in last season’s delightful production of ROUNDING THIRD.

The show is sponsored by Carol Kiessig, and Gregg Wolff. Our show director sponsors are Christine and Bob Williams, Films for Good.
