Uber, a taxi service that connects riders and drivers through an app, will arrive in San Luis Obispo in the coming weeks. Using a phones GPS, Uber detects the clients location and connects them with the nearest available driver, touting its service as “better, faster, and cheaper than a taxi.” The San Francisco based transportation network company was founded in 2009 and currently operates in 36 countries and 70 cities within the US.
