Employees at Wacker Wealth Partners accept the Give, Advocate, Volunteer Award, which honors an organization that embodies the spirit of creating lasting change through their leadership level giving, engagement in improving conditions San Luis Obispo County, acting as a liaison between United Way and its community partners and dedicating a significant amount of time to furthering the mission of United Way and advancing the common good.

United Way of San Luis Obispo County celebrated the kickoff of its 60th anniversary at a 60th Anniversary Jubilee on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Local businesses and individuals were honored for their contributions to the community and to United Way. The following awards were presented:

LIVE UNITED Award: Whitney Szentesi Retiree Award: Norman Baxter
Community Spirit Award: Pacific Premier Bank
Give Advocate Volunteer Award: Wacker Wealth Partners Special Recognition: In memory of Larry Baur, C.P.A. Tocqueville Award: Bert and Candace Forbes
Innovation Award 2018: 5Cities Homeless Coalition “Homeless Youth Outreach and Mentoring” and Transitions-Mental Health Association “TMHA High School Project”

Certificates of recognition were presented to the recipients from the offices of Senator Bill Monning, Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham, the County Board of Supervisors, and the City of SLO.
