Suzen Bio PicVisit San Luis Obispo County recently honored Suzen Brasile, Pismo Beach Conference & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Executive Director with the 2015 Tourism Ambassador Award. Presented each year to an individual who has shown superior dedication to tourism in San Luis Obispo County, the Award is in its third year, with previous recipients including Chef Gregg Wangard, formerly of the Marisol restaurant at the Cliffs Resort and Hoyt Fields, retired Museum Director, Hearst Castle. With more than 27 years of tourism industry experience, 17 years spent at the Pismo Beach CVB, Brasile is the face of tourism development and promotions for the city. Visit SLO County was honored to present Brasile with this award and celebrate her contributions to tourism.

The Visit San Luis Obispo County Tourism Vision Workshop drew more than 120 tourism professionals from across the county to the Atascadero City Hall for the annual gathering. Keynote speakers at the workshop included Jim Rogers, Chairman & CEO, Kampgrounds of America, Inc., and Caroline Beteta, President & CEO, Visit California. Beteta also closed the workshop with the presentation of the Tourism Ambassador Award honoring Brasile.

“I am very honored to receive this prestigious San Luis Obispo County Tourism Ambassador Award,” said Brasile. “It’s been a privilege to represent a place I’ve called home. It’s where we raised our family and now our grandchildren love it!” Brasile has served on the Visit San Luis Obispo County Board of Directors for the last three terms. Additionally she has been a Cal Travel Board Member since 2012, and has served for the past eight years as a Cal Travel Industry Association State Ambassador. Brasile has enjoyed a 27 year relationship with Visit California, and as a founding board member, she served on the Central Coast Tourism Council Board of Directors and the Rural Tourism Committee.

Brasile was instrumental in obtaining the official Pismo Beach California Welcome Center (CWC), located at the Pismo Beach Prime Outlets, the first on the Central Coast and still the number one CWC in the State. She was also instrumental in the promotion of the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove, which is Pismo’s largest off-­‐season attraction.
