The school year is right around the corner! Don’t wait until the last minute to help local students and teachers have a successful academic year. Save the date and make plans now to help us “Stuff the Bus!” Businesses, groups, and individuals are invited to help collect school materials for students by joining United Way of San Luis Obispo County, KSBY, Meathead Movers, and 1st Capital Bank to “Stuff the Bus.” From August 9-12, the following locations in SLO County will accept donations of new school supplies:

Walmart-Arroyo Grande
Staples-San Luis Obispo
Kmart-Atascadero
Cookie Crock-Cambria
Walmart-Paso Robles

In addition to the locations listed above, several workplaces have also been designated as public collection sites. These include:

Volunteers will be on hand to accept and sort donations on Thursday and Friday from 4-7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1-4:00 p.m.

Suggested donations of new school supplies include: pencils, pens, rulers, notebooks, loose leaf paper, backpacks, pencil boxes/bags, facial tissues, hand sanitizer, crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, washable paint, glue sticks, blunt tip scissors, pocket folders, tape, lunch boxes, manila folders, three ring binders, construction paper, poster board, dry erase board markers, chalk, copy paper, stickers, index cards, self-adhesive notepads, calculators and art supplies.
