On March 26 the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce unveiled two completely redesigned websites aimed at furthering your reach as members and helping to grow the regions tourism presence.
SLOChamber.org, the Chamber’s business website, and VisitSLO.com, the region’s highest trafficked tourism website, have both undergone a comprehensive redesign complete with enhanced content, images, videos, clean uncluttered design and improved functionality that will elevate Chamber Members’ online presence and further the Visit SLO tourism brand.
“These beautiful sites will serve as a great resource to learn more about the Chamber, our members and the region as a whole,” said SLO Chamber President and CEO Ermina Karim. “We set out to create a site that will properly represent the region’s agriculture roots, tourism base and growing technology sector.”
Included in the update and redesign of SLOChamber.org is the integration of the Chamber’s popular member-news site SLO-Business.com, where member-business news gets distributed. The incorporation of this site into SLOChamber.org will lead to increased visibility of member news and events.
With an increased focus on enhancing the user experience, SLOChamber.org features a more robust membership search function, enabling visitors to more easily find the companies and services that they are in need of, view contact information, maps, directions, videos about the company, links to the company’s site and social media, as well as the ability to directly message a member business.
Coinciding with the redesign was an upgrade to the Chamber database which will lead to increased search engine optimization, making Chamber members easier to find online when searched by name or service.
Two new, streamlined Chamber and Community calendars have been created to help residents and visitors alike find information on local events and allows for easy registration for Chamber programs. The new Community Calendar allows for members and nonprofits to add their own events to calendars on both sites.
Tourism based SLO Chamber members now have a beautiful and growing resource at VisitSLO.com. Alongside increased search functionality, enhanced SEO and a striking look full of gorgeous imagery and video of the region, the new site also provides visitors and locals alike with extensive offerings of things to do, restaurants, shopping and lodging in specific regions of the county and puts them in contact with listed member businesses.
Affecting change and helping the local business community succeed has and always will be the core function of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce and the new SLOChamber.org has been built around that one principle. Featuring continually updated information on current news, labor laws, Chamber positions on local statutes and measures, resources for expanding or relocating your business in SLO, professional development and education opportunities, as well as recent community profile information, SLOChamber.org was built to be an evolving resource for local businesses.
“This will serve as an incredible resource to locals and visitors alike that reflects the passion of the community, the splendor of the region and truly encapsulates why people choose to build their businesses and their lives in San Luis Obispo County,” Karim said.
San Luis Obispo-based and long-time Chamber member (iii) Design handled the entire process of the redesign of both websites, the integration of SLO-Business.com, the incorporation of the Chamber database in the two sites.
The new websites are hosted by San Luis Obispo-based Digital West Networks, a long-time Chamber member.
